THE SCREEN AND THE WIND OUTSIDE

By Brian Solomon

I’ve spent this quarantine-era exclusively in my ancestral and part-time home in Shebahonaning, a small isolated mixed Anishinaabe community.  I’m very fortunate to have been on the land, with my family.

Multi-award nominated, winner and loser, creator Brian Solomon is of Anishinaabe and Irish heritage, born in Shebahonaning on the North Channel of Lake Huron. As a creator his work is multidisciplinary, raw, challenging and full of spirit.  His commissions have ranged from community-rooted works with over 100 interpreters, solos in trees, to animated installations of landfill. His works have been presented and toured across Turtle Island and abroad. He is passionate about helping people relearn the nature of their ancient bodies, and take back the space those bodies occupy. More info at: electricmoose.ca
